JAMES MCHUGH CONSTRUCTION, CHICAGO, IL  7/04 – 05/09
Project Safety Manager
Manage safety programs on multiple sites throughout Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Work includes high-rise and residential buildings, elevated roadways, the Salem Baptist Church and Community Center and the CTA Brown and Red Line rehabilitation projects.
Responsibilities include oversight of McHugh employees and all sub-contractors for compliance with contract stipulated safety and health rules, State and Local safety and health rules and Federal OSHA and EPA regulations. Assist and at times administer the site insurance program maintaining records of all job related incidents and injuries. Perform site-specific training for all employees on the project.

KENNY CONSTRUCTION, WHEELING, IL  1/99 – 7/04
Project Safety Manager – Power Group
Responsibilities included managing safety and health issues on various ComEd substation improvement projects including several HAZWOPER sites. Duties include excavation competent person, scaffold competent person, fall protection competent person, monitored and administered the personal protective equipment (PPE) for hazardous waste operations as well as general PPE for construction.

Project Safety Manager – Transportation Division
Safety manager for the Construction Management Team on the ‘Midway Airport Terminal Development Program’ which included the safety and health of all contractors at times numbering in the hundreds. Work included a six story parking garage, the new terminal and concourse buildings, a new fuel farm, and the permanent movement of railroad tracks and public streets and various new parking lots surrounding the airport.  
Administrated the safety and health program within the Federal and State guidelines for active airport construction which included the safety of thousands of air traffic passengers daily, monitoring the risk control efforts of all contractors and conducted accident investigations when necessary. Additionally, assisted with the administration of the Contractor Controlled Insurance Program and helped develop a novel discipline program, ensuring safety and health were given the highest priority on a project covering a large geographic area with a diverse scope of work.

HUNT BUILDING CORPORATION, KANEOHE, HI  10/97 – 12/98
Safety Manager, Survey Assistant, General Laborer
Work was performed on Kaneohe Marine Corps Air Base building a new a housing subdivision for military personnel. Eighty percent of my duties were site safety management for the General Contractor and all Sub-Contractors under the guidelines of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Safety and Health Manual. Requirements set forth in this manual are 50% more stringent than the requirements of the OSHA CFR 1926.

FLETCHER PACIFIC CONSTRUCTION, HONOLULU, HI  2/97 – 6/97
Safety Administrator
Phase I of the Schofield Barracks Renovation Project. The project was supervised directly by the Corps of Engineers requiring liaison between Fletcher Pacific and the U.S. Army concerning safety, health and injury reporting issues. Responsibilities included pre-con safety meetings to instruct contractors on what the requirements for the site safety would be throughout the project. Also, conducted routine safety inspections and audits and provided all safety related training.

Responsible for all work scheduling, assigning workers, and quality control of completed projects.

CON-FAB CORPORATION, HONOLULU, HI   1/96 – 6/96
Quality Control and Safety Management
Work included pre and post quality control and safety of precast concrete products. The specific work involved 400 ton I-Beam girders being installed on the last elevated portion of the H-3 Freeway. To complete this project safely the development of a novel fall protection system and a special rebar capping system was necessary.

Commercial construction on nine different projects. Led weekly safety meetings educating workers and sub-contractors on new and existing safety and health standards and policies pertaining to these projects. Conducted daily hazard inspections, ordered and issued PPE. Construction work included, civil work, concrete demolition, new utility and hydrant installations, concrete deck pours, deck building and dismantling, scaffold erection and dismantling, and final prep for walkthrough and turnover to customer.

I have 15+ yrs related to the Safety and Health industries. My specialty is Construction but I can apply my safety experience to many different industries.
