Successfully implemented and executed “Total Containment” and “Lead Abatement” for an offshore structure along environmentally sensitive coast of California, and in Mobile Bay, Alabama.
Fully managed the “Simultaneous Isolation & Protection Procedures” project for GOM production platforms Hydrocarbon equipment offshore.
Fabrication yard had (4) Manitowoc cranes ranging from 150 to 250 tons. All Load-outs were performed from our water-front Fabrication yard, with additional cranes for larger lifts as projects predicated. The Fabrication shops also included overhead Gantry cranes ranging from 10-30 tons. We also had several Pickers up to 35 tons.
Fabrication and Construction yard constructed small caissons, tripods, decks, piping and skid packages for offshore structures and refineries and sent installation crews for hook-up, and commissioning.
The cranes were inspected daily prior to use and we conducted monthly and yearly certifications. All slings, wire rope, sleeves, tracks, hydraulics, etc were inspected and serviced regularly. The booms, lattice or solid, had a vigorous maintenance and inspection program including NDT testing and X-ray if necessary with corresponding repairs if necessary.
Petro-Drive “introduced the first offshore SELF ELEVATING CRANES, which ranged from 3 ton to 100 tons. The Self Elevating Stiff Leg cranes allowed platforms which had no or limited capacity to erect larger cranes to
perform the project task. Projects included provide larger temporary cranes to lift larger equipment to the platform or to replace platform cranes for upgrades or refurbishments.
The shop cranes comprised our gantry overhead cranes to move equipment in and out and ranged from 10-30 tons. The exterior Rental Self Elevating cranes were positioned around the yard when not in use to assist in the material
transfer and equipment testing. The Crane’s were also utilized for operator and rigger training. The Self elevating rental cranes ranged from 25 tons to 100 tons with a Hammerhead.
Reengineered and developed new “Technologies and Methodologies” for “Simultaneous Drilling and Driving” of conductor piles for offshore utilization. Set a world record directing the installation of conductor installation in 1,100 feet of water utilizing the redesigned “CenterPunch Technology” off the coast of California for Exxon.
Utilized a Semi-Rig, (2) Cranes 40ton and 70 ton, along with the platform cranes, which could not reach all areas of the platform, these Self Elevating cranes would move on the top deck with the Rig.
Had (6) Land Drilling Rigs which required mobile cranes for set-up and also demobilization. All cranes had to meet specifications, and have lifting plans, and proper inspections and supervision at all times. The Drilling Rigs
required a minimum of (2) track 100-150 ton cranes for mobilization and demobilization.
The crews where well trained and all were all certified operators, riggers, and spotters.
