I was employed with Puget Sound Energy as a Safety Consultant from August, 1997 to August, 1998. I tracked and trended all injury and property damage accidents, and assisted in the management of workers compensation claims. I implemented the procedures and trained gas line workers in new portable emergency air for office and field employees, equipment and gas line fire protection suits. From January, 1996 to August, 1997, I worked with D.W. Close Electrical Contractor Company as the Director of Safety and Risk Management. I was responsible for development, implementation, training, and oversight of all safety, health, and risk management programs. I evaluated and monitored subcontractor safety programs working under D.W.Close subcontractor agreements. I tracked all injury and property accidents, and managed workers compensation and general liability claims, while maintaining a statistical database, monitoring company loss control programs. I conducted audits of operators, to insure compliance with industrial safety and health regulations and developed an information resource packet for injured workers as well as a light duty back-to-work program. I introduced documentation and accountability methods for supervisors, and developed safety training for new employees.
I was employed by Baugh Construction as a Crew Safety Manager from December, 1993 to January, 1996. I was responsible for the implementation of safety programs in the field. I oversaw daily operations, ensuring job site safety as well as monitoring, inspecting, and repairing all field safety supplies.
